Rapid Response Solutions has invested in alternative lifting solutions as we see this as the way forward. “Looking outside the box” calls for bold financial investment in equipment that is not widely available in the UK.
Alternative lifting covers many varied solutions, from Valla cranes, to mini crawler cranes, to roof top cranes, to lift systems. All of which have been used on numerous projects with great results.
As with all projects the alternative lifting solutions require attention to detail and proper forward planning. Our staff are experienced in working with these lifting solutions and ensuring the tasks are completed successfully.
Alternative lifting has enabled Rapid Response Solutions to find budget savings to projects that would have been scrapped without these solutions.
On several of our regular sites we have found ongoing solutions which have helped our customers remain competitive in producing and handling their products. This draws back to our ongoing partnership arrangements where we have an inside view of our customers requirements.
When looking for alternative lifting solutions, the Mega lift is an excellent alternative for lifting heavy weights in confined locations where mobile cranes are not suitable. When dealing with heavy weights they can also prove to be the “least cost” solution.
The Mega lift is a versatile lifting system that can be set up inside a building to assist with the raising or lowering of heavy items.
We have completed many projects using the Mega Lift system which would have been physically impossible or financially impracticable any other way.
Some of the projects we have completed are:
All the above projects are planned by our appointed persons and a lifting plan, drawings & method statements raised and followed in the same way as any other crane lifting operation.
Valla cranes are an excellent solution to many internal moving projects. Valla cranes are electric vehicles the size of a forklift truck which lift weights up to 7.5te. We have used our Valla cranes on hundreds of machinery moving projects, from one mill being moved within a factory to complete factory relocations. The cranes are able to uplift machinery and carry it around without the need for stabilising legs. These cranes can save hours of manual labour, jacking and skating machines.
Spider cranes are mini crawler cranes, similar to a tracked digger in appearance, but with the exception of a lifting arm instead of a digging arm. The cranes are idea for sites with tight or low access. The cranes can also be lifted onto the roof of a building and used to lift equipment to the roof. Depending on the model, some of the spider cranes will fit through a single doorway and even fit into a lift. These cranes have several outrigger positions which makes a big advantage when trying to operate in confined locations.
The Potain PC10-6t is a specialist crane which works by sitting on the roof of a building and lifting plant and equipment from the ground to the roof. These cranes usually work alongside tower cranes, taking all the smaller loads to leave the tower crane free to look after the main site lifting. The advantage of the PC10 is the fact that it can be manually stripped down on the roof and moved offsite via internal lifts. Due to the stability of this crane it also works well on open shaft works where a crane is required to raise and lower equipment down a shaft.
Towable cranes are a suitable alternative to mobile cranes when the location has tight access. The cranes feature small rig areas with long boom lengths. Ideal for light weights at radius
These cranes are more suited to longer hires from three months onwards. Once rigged and ready to work these cranes are a cheaper alternative to mobile cranes. If on a longer hire it would be advantageous for the customer to train their own operator to reduce the costs even further
A fantastic alternative to mobile cranes, set up in fifteen minutes. Ideal for lighter weights at radius.
